Cause

Format USB key, USB hard drive for export.

Resolution

ERASING AND FORMATTING MEDIA
 
Using the Front Panel or RemoteControl:
 
1. From the System setup menu, on the front panel or remote control, press ENTER. Then press the up/down arrow buttons to highlight the
      Backup option. The Backup settings are displayed.
2. Connect or insert the backup media.
3. Select the schedule setting.
   a. On the front panel or remote control, press the up/down arrow buttons to highlight Schedule, and then press ENTER.
   b. On the front panel or remote control, press the left/right arrow buttons to display a Schedule. click the
        settings box. The setting OFF disables the erase media function.
   c. On the front panel or remote control, press ENTER to select the setting. The settings box changes
        color.
4. Repeat the procedure in step 2 to select the desired device.
5. Start the formatting process.
  a. On the front panel or remote control, press the up/down arrow buttons to highlight Erase Media.
  b. On the front panel or remote control, press ENTER. The “Would you like to erase a media?”
      dialog box opens
  c. On the front panel or on the remote control press the left/right arrow buttons to highlight OK, and then press ENTER. The “Media formatting is in progress” dialog box is displayed.
      After the media is formatted, the system displays the “Formatting completed.” dialog box.Formatting Completed Dialog Box
  d. On the front panel or remote control, press ENTER.
 
Using the Mouse connected to the DX4500/DX4600:
  1. Connect the USB key/hard drive to the USB port on the DX4500/DX4600.
  2. Login by clicking on the login icon and entering the admin password.
  3. Click on the Setup icon.
  4. Click on system icon.
  5. Click Backup, the Backup settings are displayed.
  6. Click Schedule and change it to Instant (leaving it OFF it disables erase media function).
  7. Verify the USB key/Hard drive is detected under Device box.
  8. Click Erase Media button
  9. On the warning screen "Would you like to erase media?", click OK.
  10. The “Media formatting is in progress” dialog box is displayed,  After the media is formatted, the system displays the “Formatting completed.

  11. Click OK.
  12. USB Key/Hard drive is now formatted.
