Spectra IV has no control and the video is washed out, how can I test the integrity of the RG59 coaxial video cable?
Spectra IV Series
Wires to a CM9760-CXTA
Loops to a CM9760 Matrix system
Bad coaxitron cable.
Verify that your RG59 coaxial video cables meet Pelco specification for video by using a Volt Ohm Meter to measure the cables resistance.
1. Terminate one end with a 75 ohm resistor.
2. On the unterminated end of the cable, use a meter to measure the resistance between the center conductor and the outer shield.
The resistance should be 75 Ohms + 1 Ohm for every 100 feet of cable. Small variances are acceptable depending on the length of cable and the tolerance range of the terminating resistor.
Replace the coaxial video cable if the resistance is not 75 Ohms + 1 Ohm for every 100 feet of cable.
NOTE: It is not recommended to used BNC-T.
