How to check current operating temperature of an Endura Device?

Issue

  • Operating Temperature has been called into question
  • Alarm sound is beeping from unit
  • There are known Cooling Fan failures or noisy fans (failing)

Cause

  • Failed/Failing Cooling Fans
  • Excessive Heat or Vibration in installed environment
  • Excessive dust buildup within internal chassis of unit(s)

Resolution

You can view the operating temperature of Endura Devices which support Diagnostics (most Endura Devices) from within WS5000/WS5200 software.
 

To view the operating temperature an Encoder or camera

1. Drag a video stream from the encoder in question into the live view panel. Verify the border is green for Live Video.

2. Right-click anywhere in the image and select Properties.


3. Click Diagnostics.


4. Select the Temperature entry, and if necessary click the Details << button to expand the bottom pane.



 

To view the operating temperature of Recording Device 

1. Drag a video stream from any camera (one that is recording onto the NVR/DVR/NSM(Pool) into the live view panel.

2. Switch to playback using the quicksearch bar + Play button, or other known method.  Verify the border is yellow (not green), which means you are now in playback mode.

4. Right-click anywhere in the image and select Properties.


5. Click  Diagnostics.


6. Select the Temperature entry, and if necessary click the Details << button to expand the bottom pane.
 


 

To view the operating temperature of any/all other Devices

1. Click the Setup button to enter setup mode.



2. Click the Devices tab, and optionally the Filters button and entries within the Filter Types, Device Type, and Location tabs to assist in locating the device you need.


3. Select the device you would like to check temperature for, and then click Properties, and then Diagnostics... 

  
4. Select the Temperature entry, and if necessary click the Details << button to expand the bottom pane.
