Issue

There are two types of TXB IP modules, one is the older TXB-IP and the other is the newer TXB-N H.264 module. How do you tell them apart physically?

Product Line

Pelco Cameras

Environment

TXB installed into Spectra IV backbox.

Cause

We sometimes need to know which type of TXB module is installed; the older TXB-IP that is now obsolete and works on the Atlas platform, or the newer TXB-N which works on the sarix platform and does H.264.

Resolution

The ways to distinguish the differences:

  1. The older Atlas based TXB-IP uses the UTP output to get its video and has a plug that goes to the UTP connection.
The newer Sarix based TXB-N does not support the UTP connector and is not included in the module. In other words, the UTP connector on the module is missing.
  2. On the older TXB-IP module, both the reset button and LED are paired next to each other.
In the new TXB-N, the reset button and LED are opposite of each on the module.
