How to view and clear the DSSRV / DSSRV2 DSSI (Digital Sentry System Information) messages?

Issue

  • Would like to clear all software status messages to return the DS SRV status light back to Green.
  • Software error problems communicating with the camera appears on display and will not go away.

  • DSSRV version ALL
  • DS ControlPoint

Cause

  • The DSSI (Digital Sentry System Information) utility does not include the option to clear history.
  • Alert of problems communicating with the same IP camera.

Resolution

  1. Open DS ControlPoint (Start > All Programs > Pelco > DS ControlPoint)
     
  2. Click on Setup  and navigate to Alarm Popup.

     
  3. Click on the button "Alarm Popup is currently DISABLED" to enable.

     
  4. Once enabled, place a checkmark next to Show DS error alarms and then click Return To Setup.



     
  5. If there were any existing DS error messages, a new Alarm tab will be available next to the Live tab.
     
  6. The DS error alarms can be cleared individually or globally, to clear all alarms click on Clear Alarms .



     
  7. Once the alarm messages are cleared, the DSSRV software status light will be Green. The notification icon in the systray  takes approx. 30 seconds to update.

Note:  The DS ControlPoint login user account requires the Alarm Activity and Alarm Clearer user right in order to view and clear alarms.
