After updating to 1.8.2, audio no longer works on a Sarix camera

Issue

After updating the Sarix camera to 1.8.2 the audio quits functioning.

Pelco Cameras, Pelco Video Management

Environment

  • Sarix camera that has been updated to version 1.8.2 or higher
  • Endura system

Cause

There is a race condition that will sometimes cause the audio not to be recognized as set to enabled.

Resolution

Reboot the camera after enabling the camera for audio, or follow the steps below

  1. Update cameras to 1.8.2.7852
  2. Reset camera to factory defaults
  3. Configure camera as needed a second time, this should allow for it to hold the configuration.
  4. Enable audio in Endura
