Review entire article carefully before proceding. Reboot Sarix IP cameras or Encoders prior to an update. See LL#11841.
Obtain the needed Firmware Package (PPM or ZIP format) from the Pelco Software/Firmware Download Center.
Lauch Pelco Utilities version 2.3.13 or higher.
note: Click here to download the latest version of Pelco Utilities.
note: If no Endura System Manager is present, IP Camera Mode will be enabled to allow camera updates without login. If Endura System Manager is present, you must login with valid credentials before proceeding (default credentials are Username: admin | Password: admin).
Click on the Software Packages tab...
Click the Add button to browse your PC and locate the Firmware Package (PPM or ZIP format) obtained in step 1 above, then click the Open button...
note: Depending on the size of the file and PC speed, addition may take up to 1 minute to complete.
The update will now be listed in the Software Packages list, as seen here...
Return to the System Attributes tab, and click on the desired device Model from the left panel.
If Updating Sarix IP Camera(s) or Encoder(s), perform steps 1 through 4 in LL#11794 before proceeding to step 8.
Right click on the desired device from the right panel, navigate to Device Actions and select Update.
note: If your device is not listed, using the Search button at bottom-right will cause Pelco Utilities to scan the network for Pelco Devices.
Multiple Devices can be selected at once (prior to step 7) using shift-click or control-click, then updated simultaneously.
note: Pelco Utilities will report the update has "completed". This only means that the Endura Device has now received the upload of the Firmware Package File to the device. It is now up to the Device Operating System to go through the procedures necessary to update itself. This process generally involves shutting down services, applying the update, and rebooting one or more times. This is all done in the background without visual verification, and can take between 8 and 45 minutes, depending on a number of factors. Do not manually reboot or otherwise attempt to utilize the device in any way until Pelco Utilities shows that the device is now at the new/correct version and the SM State, Synced, and Registered values again read as Online/Yes/Yes (not applicable if Endura System Manager is no present).
