Configuring UDI5000-MTRX in ASCII mode: UDP

Issue

How to add a UDP connection for the UDI5000-MTRX in ASCII mode as well as set up Alarms and Macros.

Environment

Endura UDI5000-MTRX in ASCII mode All Versions

Cause

It is necessary to configure the UDI5000-MTRX in ASCII mode with a UDP connection.

Resolution

UDI5000-MTRX Setup Connections:

  1. Open UDI5000-MTRX Web Interface
  2. Click on the Connections Tab
  3. Assign a Connection Name:
  4. Set Connection Type: dropdown to UDP
  5. Add Port: 3003
  6. Default Monitor: None 

 

To create alarms that will run a script:

Endura Workstation:

  1. Create, then execute the script.
  2. Verify that the script produces the desired results.

UDI5000-MTRX Setup Alarms/Macros:
       

  1. Open UDI5000-MTRX Web Interface
  2. Click on the Alarms/Macros Tab
  3. Click +  to create an Alarm
  4. Select Trigger: dropdown to Alarm
  5. Add Number: 1
  6. Action upon trigger: dropdown to Endura Script 
  7. Select proper script from dropdown

 

To test, Free IP Tools may be used:

  1. Select RawSocket from the list on the left
  2. Click on RawUDP
  3. Enter the Host or IP address = UDI5000-MTRX IP address
  4. Enter the Port:  3003  Use the same port number from step 5 in the above procedure UDI5000-MTRX Setup Connections
  5. Enter the Data:  1Ea  This will trigger UDI5000-MTRX Alarm 1
  6. Click the Send button
