System Log audit is desired.
Endura maintains a system log that provides an overview of daily events in the system. Each time a user logs on to the system, an entry is written automatically in the system log. Other entries in the log track alarms that occur through the day, diagnostic information about devices, and so forth. You can also make manual entries in the system log from different locations in the system. A system log can become quite large if it is not managed properly. You can control how much information is written in the log, how often information is deleted from the log, and where the log is stored.
The Endura WS5000 Advanced System Management software has the ability to log event messages displayed on the Alarms tab to a centralized database on the SM5000 or SM5200. These messages are accessible for up to 30 days via the WS5000 System Log tool.
How to open the System Log tool:
- Login to the WS5000 as an operator with appropriate permissions to view the System Log tool.
- Click on Tools > System Log or press Ctrl+L.
To increase the duration, follow these steps:
- Press CTRL + SHIFT + S
- Click on Devices.
- Expand Unknown Location and find the Endura Pelco System Logger.
- Click on View Hierarchy and select the System Logger.
- Click on Modify Settings
In the box that says, Enable pruning after, increase or decrease the number of days to fit your needs.
Please note that these messages are different from the Linux system log messages available via the Get Log Files macro in Endura Utilities.
