How to regain PTZ Control by restarting Endura SM5000 / SM5200 PTZ Priority Service.

Issue

SM5000 "systemmanagerd" service may become nonfunctional, causing loss of PTZ control on one or more cameras.
 

SM5200 "service-accessd" service may become nonfunctional, causing loss of PTZ control on one or more cameras.

Environment

  • NET5300 & NET5400 Series Encoders
  • TXB-N
  • Spectra Dome and Spectra IP /H264/HD
  • SM5000 version 01.04.0055 or newer
  • SM5200 All versions

Cause

  • Change the IP address of a PTZ device
  • Updated Camera / Encoder firmware
  • Other possible software malfunctions
     

Resolution

For SM5000

  1. SSH Into the SM5000 and enter the following commands, one at a time followed by the enter/return key after each line -
    /etc/init.d/systemmanagerd stop
    /etc/init.d/systemmanagerd start

or...

For SM5200

  1. SSH into the SM5200 and enter the following commands,one at a time followed by the enter/return key after each line -
    /etc/init.d/service-accessd stop
    /etc/init.d/service-accessd start

 

After the service has been restarted, once again drag a PTZ Camera into a WS5000/WS5200 Live View Window and verify PTZ Functionality has returned.
