How to add a newly configured DX9200HDDI storage array to a DX9200 recorder.

Cause

Newly configured DX9200HDDDI Storage Array

Resolution

Once the DX9200HDDI has completed initialization the following steps will allow you to configure the storage drives.

  1. Right-click on My Computer
     
  2. Click on Manage
     
  3. In Computer Management Window select Disk Management
     
  4. Once Disk Management is selected the Write Signature Wizard will appear
     a) If the DX9200HDDI system consist of drives larger than 2TB select Spanned Volume then select all drives to be associated.
     b) If the drive size is less than 2TB select Simple Volume
     
    NOTE: If the Write Signiture Wizard never appeared, right click on the name of the line that contains Disk 1. There you will find an option to write a signature.
     
  5. Click Next
     
  6. Click Finish
     
  7. Back in Disk Management the drive should now show Healthy and the drive space Unallocated
     
  8. Right-click in the Unallocated Space
     
  9. Select Create Volume
     
  10. Click Next
     
  11. Use all available Disk Space
     
  12. Click Next
     
  13. Select Quick Format
     a) Verify that the File System is NTFS
     
  14. Click Next
     
  15. Click Finish
     
  16. Close Disk Management
     
  17. Double-click on My computer
     
  18. Go to C:\
     
  19. Go to Copy of E:\
     
  20. Right Click on Media and Select Copy
     
  21. Click Back
     
  22. Right-click on E:\
     
  23. Click Paste
     
  24. Double-click on E:\
     
  25. Right-click on Media
     
  26. Go to the Sharing tab
     
  27. Share name change to media$
     
  28. Click Permissions
     
  29. Remove Everyone
     
  30. Click Add
     
  31. Add Administrators
    a) Give Full Control permissions
     
  32. Add Avusers
    a) Give Read-Only
     
  33. Click Apply
     
  34. Click Ok
     
  35.  Double-click on the Server Configuration Utility
     
  36. Username: admin Password: admin
     
  37. Under Advanced Options checkmark Assume Continuous Record on Scheduler
     
  38. Click Configure
     
  39. Restart the DX9200 Server
