How to edit the IP address on a Digital Sentry Server

Issue

Update IP address for DS system.

Cause

Adding or changing IP address in Windows XP.

Resolution

  1. Stop the DigitalSENTRY video services:
    1. Click on START and then type in services.msc and press [ENTER] button
    2. Right-click and Stop the following services:
      • DigitalSENTRY WatchDog
      • DigitalSENTRY VideoServer Service
      • DigitalSENTRY Storage Service
    3. Minimize the Services window.

       
  2. Update the DS Admin configuration utility: (Only if DS System is currently configured, if not proceed to step 3)
    1. Click on START > All Programs > Pelco > DS Admin
    2. Log in using a administrator account (default = admin,admin)
    3. Click directly on the system name under Available Systems like a hyperlink, verify that the TCP/IP Address field is 127.0.0.1 or the new IP address and click Save.
    4. Expand the VAU folder and click directly on the system name below like a hyperlink (computer icon.)
    5. Select the VAU Info tab in the right hand window.
    6. Update the TCP/IP Address with the new IP address and click Save.
    7. Once the system has completed saving the new setting, close the DS Admin utility.

       
  3. In Windows XP follow these steps to enter or change the HVR static IP address:
    1.  Click on Start
    2. Click on Settings
    3. Click on Control Panel
    4. Click on Network Connections
    5. Right-Click on Local Area Connection
    6. Click on Properties
    7. Click on TCP/IP
    8. Click on Properties
    9. In Properties click on Specify an IP Address
    10. Input IP Address
    11. Click Apply
    12. Click Ok

       
  4. Start the DigitalSENTRY services:
    1. Click on START and then type in services.msc and click [ENTER] button.
    2. Right-click and Start the following services:
      • DigitalSENTRY WatchDog
      • DigitalSENTRY VideoServer Service
      • DigitalSENTRY Storage Service
    3. Close the Services Window.
