The NSM5200, SM5000, NET5402R-HD, and VCD5202 could have the correct time, but due to Time Zone misconfiguration the wrong time should be displayed.

Product Line

Pelco Video Management

NSM5200, NET5402R-HD, SM5000, VCD5202, UDI5000-CAM with wrong time zone.

The time zone offset can cause problems with displaying the incorrect hour on your video.

Determine if your Time Zone is incorrect:

  1. SSH into Endura Device
  2. Log in with root/pel2899100
  3. Type date
  4. Verify the time zone listed is correct
*E.G. EDT is eastern time zone with daylight savings, EST is eastern time zone without daylight savings. If EST is selected and time is 1 hour off during daylight savings, then changing it to EDT will fix the issue.
    *New_York is EDT

If the time zone is incorrect, perform the following:

  1. Type rm -f /etc/localtime
  2. Type ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Los_Angeles /etc/localtime
*Los_Angeles for PDT, Chicago for CST and New_York for EDT
  3. Type vi /etc/sysconfig/clock
  4. Press "i" on the keyboard, it should say INSERT on the bottom left. Modify the line "ZONE=America/Los_Angeles" to read the correct time zone.
  5. Press "Esc" to exit  insert mode. Type :wq to save the file and quit.
  6. Type /sbin/hwclock --systohc
  7. Type reboot
*The system will take around 5-10 minutes to reboot.

After the reboot:

  1. SSH into Endura Device
  2. Log in with root/pel2899100
  3. Type date
*Verify the time zone is correct now.
