Cause
A new NSM pool is needed.
Additional NSM members are needed in a pool.
Resolution
If only adding additional NSM members to the pool, skip to Section II.
Section I: Configure the NSM5200 Pool Manager:
- Open the web interface for the NSM5200
- On the Settings page, ensure that the NSM5200 is marked as Manager.
- Verify that the IP settings are as desired
- Specify a Pool Name
- Set the failover IP address to an available IP on the same VLAN that is outside of the DHCP scope
- Click the Generate Key button and record the key that is generated
Section II: Configure the NSM5200 Pool Members:
Important Notes:
- New NSM members must be running at an equal version of software.
- New NSM members must be in the same VLAN.
- New NSM members must have matching storage capacity to that of the current NSM pool. If they are mismatched, recording gaps will be present due to garbage collection occurring at a different rate.
- Open the web interface for the NSM5200
- On the Settings page, ensure that the NSM5200 is marked as Member.
- Verify that the IP settings are as desired
- Set the failover IP address to the failover specified on the manager of the pool
- For Manager Key enter the key generated on the manager of the pool.
- Click the Validate Manager button. The button will turn greeen.
- Click the Save button
- The Pool Name field should populate with the pool name assigned on the manager
- This unit will now be eligible to record any of the cameras added to the NSM Pool tab from the web interface of the pool manager.
