When using Genetec you may lose frames and see distortion

When using Genetec with the ONVIF driver and a 16:9 aspect ratio the video will drop frames and try to rescale to 4;3 ratio

Genetec system using the ONVIF driver,  Sarix cameras

Genetec tries to set the aspect ratio to 4:3, it also tries to grab the key frame as 1.

Current workaround is to set the Genetec to multicast using the Genetec configure tool and also set the key frame on the cameras to one. The GOP is configurable.  From the live web UI, go to stream configuration and look at I-frame interval.  So if image rate is 25 frames/sec, and the I-frame interval is 25, the key frame rate is 1 / sec.  At some point in the not too distant past they renamed GOP to I-frame interval.

To set the key frame to one you do the following;

You set the I–frame to the same rate as the image rate. This is supposed to help the Genetec work better
