How to configure Endura users and roles using the WS5000 software

Cause

  • User needed to be added to the Endura system.

Resolution

Important Note: When changing user roles the WS5000 and VCD5202 users will be required to log out then log back in to take affect.

Create a role and assign permissions and devices:

  1. Launch the Endura Software Management Software
  2. Click the setup button (wrench icon)
  3. Click the Roles Tab
  4. Click the Add button
  5. Enter the role name then click the OK button
  6. Select the Device tab under Permissions
  7. Click the Modify button
  8. Mark the check boxes next to the services needed, then click the OK button.
  9. Select the service to be edited under Service permissions
  10. Click the Modify button under Included items
  11. Select individual devices (including the cameras and monitor if appropriate) and click the Add button, or check the Select all devices checkbox.
  12. Click OK when finished
  13. Click the Apply button

 

Create a new User:

  1. On the Setup screen, select the Users Tab
  2. Click the Add button
  3. Enter the Name
  4. Enter the Password
  5. Enter the Confirm password then click the OK button

 

Add the user to a Role:

  1. On the Users tab, select the user that needs to be assigned a role. 
  2. Click the Add button in the Roles section
  3. Click the appropriate role from the list, then click the OK button
  4. Click the Apply button
  5. Log out of the current admin account
  6. Login with the new user account to verify access and permissions.
