Environment

  • SM5000/SM5200 all versions.
  • Endura Utilities version 2.3.13 or higher.

Cause

This occurs after an SM5000/SM5200 System Manager has been re-imaged by a user in the field, who has failed to run shipprep afterwards to accurately sets the SSDP Port configuration.

Resolution

To fix this issue -
First, power off any failover SM5000/SM5200 units which may be present onsite.

For SM5000

  1. From Endura UtilitiesRight click the SM5000 and select Go to Device.

  2. From the righthand column, select the Pelco Configuration tab.

  3. Select the SSDP Ports sub-tab.

  4. If port 1900 - or any ports other than 2901 - are listed, select them and click Remove, then click Save and Apply buttons.

  5. Click on the Add button, and then type in 2901 within the Port column.

  6. Place a checkmark in the In and Out checkboxes.

  7. Click the Save and Apply buttons.

  8. Repeat steps 1-8 for the SM Locator, but only checkmark the Out and Search checkboxes on step 5.

  9. Wait 5 minutes, then SSH Into SM5000/SM5200 and issue reboot command.

  10. After Primary SM has fully rebooted with all services running (wait at least 20 minutes), Power on any SM5000/SM5200 Failover units which may have been powered off in step 1.

For SM5200

  • Perform steps 1-9 for the SMService and SM Locator services only, leaving the "SM5200" service at default (1900).
