How to copy a new blank database on the DX9000.

Environment

  • DX9000

Cause

Database corruption or forgotten password on the DX9000 requiring new blank database configuration.

Resolution

Installing the blank database

  1. Stop the database by right-clicking on the SQL Server icon in the Windows 2000 system tray.
  2. From the right-click menu select Stop
  3. On the Windows 2000 Desktop click on My Computer.
  4. Click on the C: drive.
  5. Double-Click on Copy of E Drive.
  6. Right-Click and click Select All.
  7. Right-Click on any of the highlighted folders.
  8. Select Copy.
  9. Click the Back button.
  10. Right-Click on the E: drive.
  11. From the right-click menu select Paste.
  12. Click Yes if prompted to overwrite files.
  13. Close My Computer.
  14. Right-Click the SQL Server icon in the Windows 2000 system tray.
  15. From the right-click menu select Start.
  16. Once the blank database has been copied to the E: drive it must then be configured.
