Cause

The following procedures are the correct way to setup the UDI5000-MTRX in V9700 Mode.

Before starting the setup process the following will need to be installed for configuration purposes.

 

 CM9700 System Manager Setup:

Step 1: Start the system manager software and login with default login credentials Admin/Admin.

Step 2: Select "Setup Wizard" from the list of options

Step 3: Follow the steps below to create a basic system

  1. Name the node or leave the default "node1" and select next.
  2. All settings for Matrix Bay Configuration can be left default, select next.
  3. Select the number of cameras you will need available and select next.
  4. Number of PTZ Camera can be left default, click next.
  5. Leave Starting Logical Number at 1 and click next.
  6. Number of Monitors can be left at 16, click next until you get to Number of Keyboards screen.
  7. Select the number of CM9760-KBD's on the system and click next until you get to the Operator Information screen.
  8. Select the number of operators you'll need (this should match the number of keyboards on the system) click Finish.

Step 4: Select the CM9760-KBD from the device tree and take note of the keyboard options in the lower left.

Step 5: Here we can change the name of the keyboard, the name is very important and must be correct for the keyboard to function with the UDI5000-MTRX.

Note: Keyboard naming format: [UDI5000-MTRX unit name] CLIENT [Lantronix IP address] [Lantronix port number] [Keyboard number]

  • The name of my keyboard is V9700Primary CLIENT 192.168.5.222 10001 1

Step 6: Select the Operators tab from the top of the screen, you should see one operator named Operator 1 with the PIN 0101. 

  • Operator name: This can be changed if needed
  • PIN: can be changed to any 4 digit number if needed.

Step 7: Save the .PSM file by selecting File>Save As. Save the file to the desktop of your PC.

 

 

UDI5000-MTRX Setup:

Step 1: From Endura Utilities right click the UDI5000-MTRX and select "Open Web Interface". Login using the password "admin"

Step 2: Select V9700 Mode and select next

Step 3: Choose Primary and select next.

Step 4: Select Choose File and navigate to where you saved the .PSM file, once selected press next to finish.

Step 5: From the main system page you can rename the UDI5000-MTRX, once named click Save in the lower right corner.

Note: The unit name needs to match the beginning portion of the CM9760-KBD name in the keyboard naming section here.

Step 6: Select the Connections tab and press the + symbol in the lower left of the screen to add a new connection.

Enter the following Lantronix information:

  • Connection Name: This can be whatever you choose
  • Connection Type: Network Client
  • IP Address: IP of Lantronix device
  • Port Number: Port number being used for Lantronix serial port 1

Once all information is entered select Save to finish.

 

Lantronix Setup:

Step 1: Open the Lantronix DeviceInstaller software and double click the unit from the list on the right.

Step 2: Select the Web Configuration tab and select the arrow icon to the right of the address bar to enter the Lantronix web interface.

Step 3: Select the Channel 1 Serial Settings on the left of the screen.

Make sure the following information is correct:

  • Protocol: This should be set to RS422/RS485 - 4 wire
  • Flow Control: None
  • Baud Rate: 4800 (this is default baud rate for the CM9760-KBD)
  • Data Bits: 8
  • Parity: Even (this is default parity for the CM9760-KBD)

Note: Once all information is entered select Apply Settings from the left of the screen before moving on.

Step 4: Select Connection under Channel 1 to the left.

Adjust the following settings if necessary:

  • Local Port: 10001
  • Inactivity Timeout: 1 Min 

Note: Once all information is entered select Apply Settings from the left of the screen before moving on.

Step 5: Click OK once finished.

 

WS5200 Setup:

Step 1: Login to the WS5200 software and select the  icon to enter the setup page and select the Users tab at the top.

Step 2: Select the Add button from the upper left and enter the operator information from the CM9700 system setup operator section and click OK.

Step 3: Select Add next to the Roles section and check the box next to the roles you want to give the new operator. Click apply once done.

Step 4: Select the upper External Monitors tab, right click a monitor from the list on the left and select Modify Settings.

Make changed to: 

  • Monitor name: Can be left blank or changed if needed.
  • Monitor number: Must match logical number of CM9700 programming monitors.

Select Apply and OK once done.

Step 5: From the camera list on the left, right click a camera and select Modify Settings.

Step 6: Under Modify Device enter a camera number and change the camera name if needed.

Step 7: Once done select Apply and OK in the lower right of the setup screen.

Wiring:

The wiring between the Lantronix UDS2100 and CM9760-KBD power supply must be wired accordingly.
 

  • Pelco CM9760-KBD Power Supply Jack Pin 1 TxD(+) to Lantronix UDS2100 Rx(+) Pin 2
  • Pelco CM9760-KBD Power Supply Jack Pin 2 TxD(-) to Lantronix UDS2100 Rx(-) Pin 8
  • Pelco CM9760-KBD Power Supply Jack Pin 7 RxD(-) to Lantronix UDS2100 Tx(-) Pin 3
  • Pelco CM9760-KBD Power Supply Jack Pin 8 RxD(+) to Lantronix UDS2100 Tx(+) Pin 7
     
  • Lantronix UDS2100 DB9 Pin out.

  • The diagram below depicts the CM9760-KBD Power Supply Jack.  The black power will be labeled "SYSTEM" and the gray power supply will be labeled "CARD CAGE"

System Manager Setup

Step 1: Open existing .PSM file or create a new system by following Steps 1-3 here.

Step 2: Select the System tab and click Add Device

Select the following when prompted with the Add Device Wizard:

  • Host Node: This can be left default
  • Device Type: Data Translator
  • Select Model: InternalDT
  • Number of Devices: Leave this at 1
  • Host Port: Choose the next available sercom port
  • Baud Rate: This can be set to anything
  • Parity: This can be set to anything

Click Finish when done.

Step 3: Select the InternalDT from the device tree and take note of the device options in the lower left.

Step 4: Here we can change the name of the InternalDT, the name is very important and must be correct for the Data Translator to function with the UDI5000-MTRX.

Note: InternalDT naming format: [UDI5000-MTRX unit name] CLIENT [Lantronix IP address] [Lantronix port number

Step 5: Select the Operators tab at the top of the screen and change the name of the InternalDT to DT 1

Step 6: Add soft alarms to the system manager programming by following LL#10222

Step 7: Select the Alarms tab from the top of the screen, choose alarm 1. The alarm options show in the lower left of the screen

Step 8: Select the Alarm cameras box and add cameras that will be called up upon the alarm being triggered. 

Step 9: Select the Groups tab at the upper left of the screen, select Alarm Monitor Groups from the tree and select New Group.

Step 10: Choose alarm monitors from the list on the left and use the right arrow button to move them to the list on the right, name the group and press OK.

Step 11: Select the InternalDT from the device tree under the System tab.

Step 12: Select the Alarm Monitor Group 1 drop down box and select the newly created alarm monitor group.

Step 13: Create a arm alarm macro by following LL#13006

Step 14: Select the System tab and select the CM9760-KBD from the device tree.

Step 15: Add the new Macro to the Start Macro field in the lower left of the screen.

Step 16: Save .PSM file, File>Save

 

Lantronix Setup

Step 1: Enter the Lantronix device setup page, follow Steps 1-2 here.

Step 2: Select the Channel 2 Serial Settings on the left of the screen.

Make sure the following information is correct:

  • Protocol: RS232
  • Flow Control: None
  • Baud Rate: Match connected device
  • Data Bits: 8
  • Parity: Match connected device

Step 3: Select Connection under Channel 2 to the left.

Adjust the following settings if necessary:

  • Local Port: 10002
  • Inactivity Timeout: 1 Min 

Note: Once all information is entered select Apply Settings from the left of the screen before moving on.

Step 4: Click OK once finished.

 

UDI5000-MTRX Setup

Step 1: From Endura Utilities right click the UDI5000-MTRX and select "Open Web Interface". Login using the password "admin"

Step 2: Select the Connections tab and press the + symbol in the lower left of the screen to add a new connection.

Enter the following information:

  • Connection Name: This can be whatever you choose
  • Connection Type: Network Client
  • IP Address: IP of Lantronix device
  • Port Number: Port number being used for Lantronix serial port 2

Step 3: Once all information is entered select Save to finish.

 

WS5200 Setup

Step 1: Login to the WS5200 software and select the  icon to enter the setup page and select the Devices tab at the top.

Step 2: Select the filter icon , select Device Type under Filter Type and select Alarm array from the Device Type list.

Step 3: Select Soft Alarm 1 from the list on the left to make the following changes.

  • Alarm Number: This needs to match the alarm logical number in the system manager software.
  • Alarm Name: This can be changed if needed.
  • Severity: Default is Minor, this can be adjusted if needed.

Step 4: Once done select Apply and OK.
