Automation Server AS-B / AS-L requires quick replacement

Resolution

Refer to FAQ section in Product Announcement PA-00233.

Sites should take advantage of the opportunity (currently available) to upgrade at no charge and be at the latest software revision. However, if a new Automation Server must be downgraded from v1.3 to v1.2, then yes, this can be done.

  • An Automation Server downgraded from v1.3 to v1.2 will remain a "single AS" and retain the protocol support for both BACnet and LON - i.e. it will not be converted to an AS-B or AS-L.
  • An AS-B or AS-L backup file created in v1.2 can be restored into a "downgraded single AS". Restoring backup files requires that the server being restored be at the same version of the original server that was backed up.
