PuTTY console icon missing

The icon in device administrator used to launch the PuTTY console is no longer on the toolbar.

Cause

Starting in SmartStruxure version 1.4, the PuTTY console is no longer used to change the IP settings of the automation server.

Resolution

In order to change the IP settings of an automation server, follow these steps below.

  1. Add the automation server into the Device Administrator.
  2. Select the controller and go to the View menu > Network settings. You can also right click on the controller and click "Network settings".
  3. In the Properties window under the Network tab, all of the IP settings can be entered for the automation server.

You can still access the PuTTY console by holding down the shift key and right clicking on the automation server. You will have the option to open 'Console'.
