How to set hard drive partition size on the DX4700/DX4800/DX4700HD/DX4800HD series HVR(s).

Issue

Partitioning available storage based on recording schedule type configured on the DX4700/4800/DX4700HD/DX4800HD series HVR(s).

Format Hard Drive.

  • DX4800HD

Cause

Replacing a failed hard drive or first time setup of the DX4700/4800/DX4700HD/DX4800HD series of HVR(s).

Resolution

Format Hard Drive.

  1. Login to the HVR with a user with Setup permissions.
  2. Select  Setup  from the toolbar.
  3. In Setup select  Camera
  4. n Camera select Storage
  5. In Storage adjust the Event Partition

If the DX4700/DX4800/DX4700HD/DX4800HD series HVR(s) will be set to event based record only then set the event partition to 100%. In the case of using both normal and event based recording then the event partition should be set to 50%.

*Note If you change the event partition setting at the server, the system will reformat all of the hard drives. All recorded video will be erased.
