DS ControlPoint fails to connect to video recorder, resulting in an error message that states Error connecting to one or more of your systems. Unable to determine system type.

When DS ControlPoint tries to connect to your recording server, the following error message comes up:

Cause

System type within DS ControlPoint system configuration has the wrong HVR/DVR series selected.

Resolution

The System Type field must be configured for the correct type of system that is being connected:
  • Integral or DigitalSENTRY (depending on DS ControlPoint version) for Digital Sentry models.
  • Integral or DVX (depending on DS ControlPoint version) for Master Control / DVX models
  • DX41/45/46/47/4800 for DX4100, DX4500, DX4600, DX4700, DX4800, DX4700HD, or DX4800HD models.
  • DX8000/8100 for DX8000 or DX8100 models.
