Exporting the IP camera list from a DSSRV or DS NVs recorder.

Issue

  • Unable to export the IP camera list from DSSRV.
  • Need to export the IP camera configuration log showing the resolution, frame rate, and video compresion type.

Cause

List of IP cameras configured on the Digital Sentry system for backup purposes.

Resolution

Use DigitalSENTRY Reports to export a camera configuration report:

  1. Open DS ControlPoint (Start > All Programs > Pelco > DS ControlPoint.)
     
  2. Verify DS ControlPoint is connected to the Digital Sentry system that you need a list of IP cameras configured.
     
  3. Click the  icon to enter the Setup menu.
     
  4. Click on the DigitalSENTRY Reports button.
     
  5. Select the location where you would like the DS Reports to be saved, click Next.
     
  6. Verify the Digital Sentry system is listed in the Existing Systems column, then click Next.
     
  7. Check the box next to Configuration Report in the Report Type: window, select whether you want a PDF or HTML report.


     
  8. Click Next.
     
  9. Click Finalize, once the Finalize button changes to Close and the green status bar is all the way filled, click Close.
     
  10. Navigate to your save location and locate the CamConfigTemplate_xxxxxxxxx.html/pdf file.  Double-click to open.

Using DS Quick Setup to export a list of IP Cameras connected to DSSRV:

  1. Run DS Quick Setup.
  2. Select Language.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Select Recording type.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Verify the IPCameras are checked or checked the IP cameras you need.
       

     
  7. Click Next.
  8. Confirm Configuration window will appear.
  9. Verify all cameras are listed (including IP addresses and record settings).

        
     
  10. Click the Export Log button (located on bottom left corner).
  11. Select the destination where you want to save the text file.

     
     
  12. Enter a file name.
  13. Click Save.
  14. Verify the text file contains the  IP camera information.
