Issue

Need to identify the motherboard in order to upgrade the memory.

Product Line

Pelco Matrix

Environment

  • CM9760-CC1 all versions
  • CM9760-NW1 all versions

Cause

An upgrade to the memory is required.

Resolution

To identify whether the motherboard included in a CC1/NW1 unit is a Tyan Tomcat, Tyan Trinity 100AT, or American Predator Raptor AT motherboard, do the following:

  1. Using the AT-compatible keyboard attached to the CC1/NW1, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot the CC1/NW1.

Note that you must press the Del key located under the number 3 key on the numeric keypad in order to reboot the CC1/NW1. Pressing the other Delete key that is provided on the keyboard does not reboot the CC1/NW1.

  2. Observe the boot screens that appear:
    • If the motherboard included in a CC1/NW1 unit is a Tyan Tomcat or a Tyan Trinity 100AT motherboard, a boot screen identifies the motherboard as the CC1/NW1 performs a memory test. Figure 1 provides a representation of a sample boot screen that identifies a Tyan Tomcat motherboard.

Figure 2 provides a representation of a sample boot screen that identifies a Tyan Trinity 100AT motherboard.
    • If the motherboard is an American Predator Raptor AT motherboard, the motherboard is not identified as the CC1/NW1 boots; however, note that a blue screen containing the Pelco logo appears during the boot process.
