How to activate camera presets and patterns from a KBD5000

Issue

A camera preset or pattern needs to be activated from a KBD5000

Cause

  • A preset action forces a camera with PTZ capability (pan, tilt, and zoom) to reposition itself on a specific scene or run a predefined action.  These actions are programmed in advance; that is, the preset actions of the camera are recorded ahead of time. 
  • A pattern is a user-defined, viewable camera path with a beginning and end.  The number and time length of patterns varies with different positioning systems.  This action is programmed in advance; that is, the pattern is recorded ahead of time.

Resolution

 
To activate a preset action on the currently selected camera with a KBD5000:
  1. Select a video pane that is displaying video from a camera with PTZ capabilities. The video pane border is blue.
  2. Enter the number for the preset action. The Shortcut menu appears.
  3. Press the yellow function key . The preset action runs immediately.
  4. To cancel your selection without activating the preset, press the joystick trigger.


 
To activate a PTZ pattern on the currently selected camera with a KBD5000:
  1. Select a video pane that is displaying video from a camera with PTZ capabilities. The video pane border is blue.
  2. Enter the pattern number.  The Shortcut menu appears.
  3. Press the blue function key . The pattern runs immediately.
  4. To cancel your selection without running the pattern, press the joystick trigger.
