UAC (User Account Control) has been disabled on the Windows 7 host

In order for DS ControlPoint to be able to run when the user is logged into Microsoft Windows as a standard-level user, the UAC control settings must be set back up to the Microsoft default setting.  The following process can be used to check or reset the User Access Control setting from the Control Panel (log into Microsoft Windows as an administrator for this):

To enable UAC (User Account Control):

  1. Open User Account Control Settings by clicking the Start button type uac. Click Change User Account Control settings.
  2. To turn on UAC, move the slider to choose when you want to be notified, and then click OK. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, click no or cancel.
