IP Camera test failed. Check IP Camera Setting and Internet connection on the DX4700/DX4800.

Issue

When adding an IP camera to a DX4700/DX4800 series, a message appears when the Test button is selected: IP Camera test Failed. Check IP Camera Setting and Internet connection.

    • version 2.0.1.00.0869, Onvif is only support for Pro series.
  • Axis Vapix 3 (version 5.x or later)
  • DX4700/DX4800 (nonHD)
    • All Pro series cameras are not supported. (IMP, IMP+, IBP, IBP+, IXP, IJP+, IWP+, P1220)

Cause

DVR fails to communicate and connect to camera.

Resolution

  1. Verify all physical connections from the camera to the DVR.
  2. Use a PC to ping the camera's IP address and verify connection in a browser. Also, ping the DVR.
  3. Verify DVR IP camera configurations are correct.
  4. Reboot Both DVR and IP Camera
