Which pan, tilt, and zoom modes are supported in the WS5200 program?

For most cameras, the only supported pan, tilt, or zoom (PTZ) mode is click and drag. In that mode, you hold down the left mouse button and drag it in the direction you would like the camera lens to face.

Another PTZ mode is center to mouse, also known as click to center. In that mode, you click on the location of the video where you would like the picture to center around. The center-to-mouse PTZ mode is only supported with Spectra IV IP cameras in the WS5200 program.

The third PTZ mode is drag and zoom. In that mode, you draw a square around the area you would like to zoom in on. This mode is only supported for Spectra IV IP cameras in the WS5200 program.

Only the Spectra IV IP (not the H.264 model) supports all three modes in the WS5200 program. Note that this does not include the Spectra IV IP H.264 or Spectra HD models.

Most Pelco PTZ cameras support the click to center in addition to the click and drag PTZ modes. However, the WS5200 program is limited to the click and drag mode for most camera models due to a limitation in the program.

If you have a Spectra IV IP camera, there are two ways to choose the PTZ mode. The first option is to right-click on the video and go to PTZ mode, as shown in Figure 1, below.

The second way to choose a PTZ mode is to hover your mouse over the video and use the video toolbar that appears, as shown in Figure 2, below.
