  • SM5200 All Versions

Cause

  1. Missing dhcp scope (VLAN) of the SM5000
  2. Missing dhcp scope (VLAN) of the SM5200
  3. Invalid dhcp scopes will also prevent the dhcp service from starting

Resolution

1.  Add a dhcp scope (VLAN) to an SM5000 which includes the subnet range of the SM5000.  See Lessons Learned Article LL#9973
2.  Add a dhcp scope (VLAN) to an SM5200 which includes the subnet range of the SM5200.  See Lessons Learned Article LL#17730
3.  Recheck each dhcp scope for a valid Network Address, Netmask, and verify scopes do not overlap.
