DSSRV-RAID installation error: No Drives detected

Issue

DSSRV System recovery process as RAID5 configuration is not detecting the hard drives on the RAID card and is unable to manage the RAID.

Cause

DSSRV-RAID cables are currently connected to the Motherboard.

Resolution

  1. Verify the DSSRV-RAID Multilane SATA cables are not loose
  2. Verify the DSSRV-RAID Multilane SATA cables are connected directly to the backplanes (hard drives) and NOT to the Motherboard.
  3. Verify the DSSRV-RAID Multilane SATA cables placement on each backplane (hard drive)
  4. If already installed, remove all original SATA cables currently connecting the hard backplanes (drives) to the Motherboard.              
  5. Use the Multilane SATA cable provided with the DSSRV-RAID.
     

NOTES:
From the DSSRV-RAID:

  • Top cable connects to Hard Drive #5 and 6.
  • Verify cable label P5 to be connected to hard drive #5
  • Verify cable label P6 to be connected to hard drive #6
     

Bottom cable connects to Hard Drives #1-4.

  • Verify cable label P1 to be connected to hard drive #1
  • Verify cable label P2 to be connected to hard drive #2
  • Verify cable label P3 to be connected to hard drive #3
  • Verify cable label P4 to be connected to hard drive #4


DSSRV2 - Verify the OS SSD drive locate in the left corner of the unit is connected to SATA 0 on the motherboard.
