How to troubleshoot time stamp mismatches when searching recorded video

Issue

When search video using client software sometimes the time stamp doesn't match and the time is incorrect.

  • All Video Recorders
  • All client software
  • DX Series Client
  • DS ControlPoint

Cause

  1. The client software has code errors.
  2. The Time Zone settings on the PC doesn't match the Recorder
  3. The Time is incorrect on the Recorder or the PC.
  4. Someone has changed the time settings at some point effecting recorded video timestamps

Resolution

  1. Upgrade Software client
  2. Verify the Time Zone and Local Times are matching on the recorder and the PC.
  3. Be sure to search various dates and time to verify some has simply changed the time.
