VideoXpert: Obtaining system logs for the Core, Media Gateway, Ops Center and Accessory Server

Issue

A component of VideoXpert is not operating per normal specifications.

Product Line

Pelco Video Management

Environment

  • VideoXpert Core
  • VideoXpert Media Gateway
  • VideoXpert OpsCenter

Cause

An error exists within the system and log files are needed to escalate the issue to Engineering.

Resolution

Note:Each individual VideoXpert product produces and stores its own logs, which roll over every 30 days.

Windows Event Viewer Logs from the CMG

  • Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer
    • Application Logs
    • System Logs
       

Unhide the ProgramData folder. This is typically a hidden Windows folder. To reveal it click Start > Control Panel > Folder Options > View > Select Show hidden files, folders, and drives > click Apply then OK.

VideoXpert Core

  • C:\ProgramData\Pelco\Core\core\*
  • C:\ProgramData\Pelco\Core\db\log\*

 

VideoXpert Media Gateway

  • C:\ProgramData\Pelco\Gateway\data\log\*

 

VideoXpert OpsCenter

  • Go to the OpsCenter's drop down menu in the upper right hand corner and select -> About Ops Center -> click on the Log button to download the logs
 
VideoXpert Storage
  • C:\ProgramData\Pelco\Storage\logs\storage-app.log

VideoXpert Accessory Server Logs: See LL#11738 to SCP files to or from Linux devices.
  • Haproxy: /var/log/haproxy.log
  • Mongo Arbiter: /var/log/mongodb 
  • Keepalived: /var/log/syslog
