VideoXpert: Aggregation Setup

Issue

A site is implementing aggregation and does not have the information required to implement it.

Product Line

Pelco Video Management

Environment

VideoXpert version 1.6+
(1) VideoXpert Ultimate
Multiple remote sites over WAN connections

Cause

A VideoXpert Ultimate system is being setup.

Aggregation is not setup correctly.

Resolution

It is recommended that Pelco Expert Services be involved in any site implementing aggregation.

This procedure assumes the main and remote site(s) are independently operational and already licensed.

Aggregation Prerequisites:

  • There must only be one site licensed as an Ultimate system.
  • The main site will implement the U1-CMG-SVR license and the U1-AGG-1C license(s).
  • The remote site(s) must reside in different vlan(s) from the main site and the other remote sites
  • The remote site(s) will implement the E1-CMG-SVR license.

Aggregation Setup:

  1. Login to the Admin Portal of the VideoXpert Ultimate site.

  2. Click the Config tab then Aggregation then Add System.

  3. Under Server Address input the IP address provided by the network administrator / Pelco Expert Services. In our example it is 172.16.30.1.

  4. Leave the Port defaulted to 443 unless your network administrator / Pelco Expert Services tells you otherwise.

  5. Under Bandwidth select the appropriate speed of your WAN connection between the VideoXpert Ultimate site and the remote site. The higher the connection speed, the better aggregated devices will perform. Selecting speeds lower than 100 Mbps will cause cameras from aggregated systems to return MJPEG video.

  6. Type in the aggregator password. The default password is aggregator.

  7. Click Test Connection, which should succesfully connect as seen below, then click Add System...

  8. Log out then log back into the Admin Portal and go back to the Aggregation tab. Once it has established the connection, it should look like this...

  9. Click on the Devices tab and locate the camera in question from the remote site. The aggregated camera will have a key icon next to it indicating it requires a license (U1-AGG-1C). Place a checkmark next to the device then click Commission on the upper right. A green circle-check icon will show that it has been commissioned...

  10. Logon to Ops Center, and Under Video Sources any aggregated cameras will display an orange icon on the upper left of the camera title...

  11. Once the camera is dragged into a live view, it will display a orange icon next to the camera title as well...
