VideoXpert: How to reimage the Accessory Server

Issue

The software is corrupted and needs to be restored to a factory default state.

VideoXpert Accessory Server Image version 1.3.74.2 (New Hardware Only)

Cause

Unstable / corrupt software

Resolution

Identify and download the correct image for your hardware:

Create a bootable USB Recovery Key

  1. Insert a USB key into a Windows 7 PC and format it as FAT32.
  2. Download the file from above and extract the entire contents to the root of the USB key.
  3. On the USB key go to \utils\win32.  Right click on makeboot.bat and select Run as Administrator. This must be executed from the USB key, do not run it from a local hard disk drive or the PC may become un-bootable!
  4. Follow the on screen prompts to create the USB key.



Reimage the VideoXpert Accesory Server

  1. Setup a monitor, keyboard and network cable on the Accessory Server.
  2. Insert the USB recovery key and power on the Accessory Server.
  3. Press F12 then select the USB key (do not select the UEFI USB option if listed).  
  4. Click the restore option and follow the onscreen prompts.
  5. When the recovery is finished select reboot then click Enter.
  6. Remove the USB key.
  7. The next 3 prompts will appear only on the initial boot of the Accessory Server. Once TCP/IP settings have been entered it will not appear on any reboots.
  8. Type in the IP address that will be used at the customer site. 
  9. Type in the subnet mask address that will be used at the customer site. 
  10. Type in the gateway address that will be used at the customer site. 
  11. The unit will complete setup and will display a login. Login using (Username: pelco Password: Pel2899100)
  12. Type ifconfig and confirm your settings are correct.
  13. From the web interface of another machine (CMG, OpsCenter, etc) open a web browser and type in the IP address of the Accessory Server and configure it.

 

Update the VideoXpert Accesory Server using LL#18779.
