How to manually drop the database and factory default reset a UDI5000-CAM

Issue

The UDI5000-CAM does not include a Reset To Factory Default option in the WebUI.  The scripts ./ship_prep and ./ResetToFactoryDefault.sh are unsuccessful

Product Line

Pelco Video Management

Environment

  • UDI5000-CAM version 1.4.1.0039

Cause

The UDI5000-CAM database includes orphaned entries and or corrupt entries.

Resolution

Before a Factory Default we can check the database entries and WebUi Configuration

1.  ssh into the UDI5000-CAM
2.  Type /usr/local/pgsql/bin/psql -c "select * from device_info;" UDI5000Config postgres

3.  Type /usr/local/pgsql/bin/psql -c "select * from stream_info;" UDI5000Config postgres

WebUI
1. Open the UDI5000-CAM WebUI
2. Type password admin" then click Login

Now lets Reset to Factory Default

Stop postgres and restart to invalidate any existing connections
Type /etc/init.d/postgresql stop
Type /etc/init.d/postgresql start

Drop both databases
Type /usr/local/pgsql/bin/dropdb -U postgres UDI5000
Type /usr/local/pgsql/bin/dropdb -U postgres UDI5000Config

Reset To Factory Default Script
Type /usr/local/Pelco/UDI5000/ResetToFactoryDefault.sh
Type reboot then press Enter

After a Factory Default lets verify that the database entries have been cleared and that the UDI5000-CAM WebUI is blank
1.  Type /usr/local/pgsql -c "select * from device_info;" UDI5000Config postgres
2.  Type /usr/local/pgsql -c "select * from device_info;" UDI5000Config postgres
