Sarix Shows 404 error

Issue

  • When logging into camera web browser shows 404 error
     
  • When trying to connect to sarix ip camera via IE or chrome, displays "web page cannot be found"

Sarix IP cameras

Cause

Cache on web browser becomes full and shows 404 error when trying to connect to Sarix IP cameras.

Resolution

 

To correct the 404 error when connecting to Sarix IP camera, Clear the Cache from browser:

  1. Open IE (Internet Explorer)
     
  2. Click on Tools
     
  3. Click on Internet Options
     
  4. From the General Tab > Browsing history, click the Delete button
     
  5. Delete Browsing History page should appear
     
  6. Place achecked on Temporary Internet files, Cookies and History.
     
  7. Click the Delete button on bottom of the page
     
  8. Close the Internet Options page.

 

Test the connection to the camera:

  1. Open IE (Internet Browser), Fire Fox or Google Chrome again
     
  2. Type the camera's IP address in the address bar
     
  3. Click Enter.

This should clear the 404 error message.

 

If the issue persist, flush the DNS using CMD.

  1. Open CMD as Administrator
     
  2. type ipconfig /flushdns
     
  3. ENTER
     
  4. should display "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache"
     
  5. Test the connection to the camera again.
     

 

NOTE:

If the 404 error has not been clear or IE is still showing "Web page cannot be found", the next step will be to factory default the Sarix camera.
