Cause

Capeye record error requiring access to the Windows 2000 operating system.

Resolution

Shell out of the DX7100 video recorder

  1. Reboot the DX7100 and tap the F8 key until the Safe Mode options are displayed.
     
  2. Select Safe Mode with Command Prompt and then select the OS if prompted. 
     
  3. The boot process takes around 3 minutes, once the command prompt loads type regedit and press ENTER.
     
  4. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
     
  5. Click on Shell and change the value to = Explorer.exe
     
  6. Close the registry editor and reboot the unit.
     
  7. When finished, shell back in by running the regedit edit command at the Windows > RUN box, change the Shell value to C:\DX7100S\Init.exe
     
  8. Close the registry editor and restart the system.
