VideoXpert: Admin Portal can't find Pelco devices when a search is ran and load all is selected.

Admin Portal does not find Pelco devices.

VideoXpert Core version 1.8

Cause

Depending on the switch manufacturer Pelco devices will not show up.

The resolution below has been required with the following switch manufactuerers:

  • Avaya
  • Enterasys
  • Nortel

Resolution

  1. Open C:\Program Files\Pelco\Core\core\config\deviceDiscovery.yml using Notepad or another plain text editor.
     
  2. Uncomment #NumberOfDummyMulticastMessagesToSend: and add the number 0.
     
  3. Set useMulticastSourceSpoof to 1

  4. Set loadBalancerIP to the Core IP or if running multi core the VIP and remove the #.
     

  5. Save the file.

  6. Restart the Core service or reboot the Core.

  7. Open Admin Portal by entering the IP of the core or if multiple cores, the IP of the VIP in a browser. Click Add and select Discover and add Pelco Devices. Wait 15 minutes then click Load All.
