VideoXpert: Device Discovery

Issue

Admin Portal is not discovering any devices.

Environment

VideoXpert  version 1.11

Cause

Device discovery methods have changed between revisions.

Resolution

  1. From the CMG Primary AND Secondary go to Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Click Turn Windows Firewall On or Off.
  2. For both Private and Public Network Settings select Turn off Windows Firewall then click OK.
  3. Open a web browser to the VideoXpert Admin Portal and login with [Username: admin Password: your_specific_password]. Click Login.
  4. Click the Devices tab then click Add then select Discover and Add Pelco Devices.


     
  5. A scan will be initiated and will run for 3 minutes.
  6. Click Load All.
  7. Devices should populate in the list.


     
  8. Repeat this process for any new devices that are added.
  9. If no devices are found, launch a command prompt from the CMG and type ping 239.255.255.250 then repeat steps 4-6 within 3 minutes.
