DS ControlPoint stops responding or loads to a blank screen after upgrading to version 7.14

Issue

DS ControlPoint loads to a blank screen and stops responding or hangs and eventually force closes after upgrading to version 7.14.

Environment

  • DS ControlPoint v7.14.133
  • DSSRV / DSSRV2
  • DS NVs

Cause

Software issue with DS ControlPoint causing a launch failure if "Save last live configuration on close" setting is enabled.

Resolution

DS ControlPoint v7.14 will fail to launch properly if the "Save last live configuration on close" is enabled.


Workaround:  - Disable the Save last live configuration on close by manually editing the configuration file.

  1. Manually edit the %appdata%/Roaming/Pelco/ControlPointCache.xml
  2. Change the OpenPreviousOnStart setting from true to false.
  3. Save the altered ControlPointCache.xml and relaunch DS ControlPoint.

 

This issue is resolved in DS ControlPoint software release 7.15 or higher, refer to Where can I download the latest version of DS ControlPoint client software?
