VideoXpert: How to add/enable EVO camera audio configuration

Issue

VXS ONVIF: No audio datasource is added when EVO camera is added to VXS

  • EVO-12 firmware v1.3.87
  • VideoXpert:  VXS v2.1.0.1196
  • VxPro

Cause

The VXS ONVIF driver requires the user to create an audio configuration

Resolution

To enable audio streaming with the ONVIF driver, you must configure it on the primary VideoXpert profile by adding a G711 audio encoder configuration. It will take the driver about 5 minutes to detect the change and enable the audio 

  1. Download and install ONVIF Device Manager (ODM) here
  2. Launch ONVIF Device Manager
  3. Login with username admin and password admin then click Log in
  4. Once in ODM, select the camera
  5. Click on Profiles
  6. Click on VideoXpert0P
  7. Click on Edit
  8. Place a check mark in front of Audio Encoder Configuration G711
  9. Click Apply
