NET5400T Series IP address

Issue

NET5400T Series video encoder network settings.

Product Line

Pelco Transmission & Power

Environment

NET5400T series encoder

Cause

IP address configuration.

Resolution

By default, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) support is enabled. If a DHCP server is available on the network, an IP address will automatically be assigned to the encoder.

If no DHCP server is available, note the following technical characteristics:

  1. Default network settings: IP address: 192.168.0.20 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
  2. For version 1.4 NET5400's the 2 and 4-channel encoder, each channel is independent and will default to the same network settings. Because each channel has the same identical IP address, the encoder will appear under “Group Tools” tab in Endura Utilities as one device and one IP address 192.168.0.20. To resolve this issue, use the Web Configuration page to manually assign an IP address to each channel. For versions after 1.4 the first channel to come up will be assigned an address of 192.168.0.20, the next channel to come up will be 192.168.0.21, and so on.
  3. When resetting the encoder to factory default, apply the option “Restore All Encoder Defaults” for each independent channel.
