How do I add a new DHCP scope to my SM5000/EE500 DHCP Service?

SM5000; any version.

EE500; any version.

Cause

When a system runs out of usable DHCP addresses or needs to add a new VLAN hence a new scope, this procedure should be used.

Resolution

Configure the SM5000/EE500 DHCP Server from the Web UI:

  1. Open SM5000/EE500 Web UI ( https://192.168.5.10:10000 )
  2. Login with user name admin and password admin
  3. Select Servers
  4. Select DHCP Server
  5. Click Add a new subnet
  6. Enter a Subnet Description (example:  Recording)
  7. Enter a Network Address (example: 192.168.6.0)
  8. Enter a Netmask (example: 255.255.255.0)
  9. Enter an Address Range (example:  192.168.6.100, 192.168.6.200)
  10. Click Create
  11. After the scope has been created, re-enter the scope and click the Edit Client Options button.
  12. In the Default routers field, input the gateway for the Subnet (example: 192.168.6.1)
  13. Click Save to commit changes to Client Options
  14. Click Save again to save the Subnet
  15. Click Apply Changes to activate the new subnet
