Issue
Getting the error “Class not found exception: com.microsoft.sqlserver:jdbt.sqlserverdriver” when attempting the convert a Cloudscape database to SQL 2005 in the Niagara R2 console window.
Environment
Niagara R2, WorkPlace Pro version 529 and higher, Windows SQL 2005
Cause
The wrong command was entered in the Niagara Command Line window (the console). The following was entered at the prompt: “dbadmin station_name m cs ms host_IP:TCP_port username password”. The “ms” portion of the command is used with SQL versions prior to SQL 2005. The “ms” portion of the command line should read “msj”, which SQL 2005 requires.
Resolution
Open the console and re-enter the correct migration command.
1. Open the console window
2. Type the following in the Command Line: dbadmin "station_name" m cs msj host_IP:TCP_port# username password
3. Enter
The database migration should be displayed in the console window.
